Turning Pools in Stepped Fishways: Biological Assessment via Fish Response and CFD Models

چکیده
With the aim of building more compact fishways and adapting them to field conditions improve their location by fish, it is common use turning pools, reducing longitudinal development construction. However, depending on design, pools may affect hydraulic performance fishway consequently fish passage. To study these phenomena, in a vertical slot different configurations submerged notches with bottom orifice types were assessed. Both studied using numerical 3D models via OpenFOAM, computational fluid dynamics software, combination responses, assessed PIT (Passive Integrated Transponder) tag telemetry for three species potamodromous cyprinids several fishways. Results show differences between hydrodynamics straight lower values hydrodynamic variables pools. Regarding behavior, ascent was slower but no effect passage success without being problem migration. This information validates as key design component species.

Assessment Maize Hybrids Response to Biological and Chemical Nitrogen Fertilizers
This research set out to evaluate the effect of combined biological and chemical nitrogen fertilizers on some corn hybrids. To this end an experiment was conducted as split plot on the basis of randomized complete block design with four replications. Main plots were included: use of chemical and biological fertilizers in four levels: 100% chemical fertilizer, 75% chemical fertilizer + 100% bio-...
متن کاملOptical Fish Tracking in Fishways using Neural Networks
One of the main issues in Computer Vision is to extract the movement of one or several points or objects of interest in an image or video sequence to conduct any kind of study or control process. Different techniques to solve this problem have been applied in numerous areas such as surveillance systems, analysis of traffic, motion capture, image compression, navigation systems and others, where...
متن کاملTurbulence models in CFD
The seminar discusses basic concepts of turbulence modeling in computational fluid dynamics (CFD). There are two mainstreams present in the field of interest. The first one are so called Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) models. RANS models are most widely used nowadays. Therefore theoretical aspects of RANS models are presented in more detail. The second mainstream presents direct numeric...
متن کاملAssessment of fish farm effluents on macroinvertebrates based on biological indices in Tajan River (north Iran)
Impacts of effluent from fish farming activities on fluvial ecosystems lead to deterioration of water quality and changes in the macroinvertebrates assemblage. In this study, the influence of fish farm effluents on water quality and macroinvertebrates communities of Tajan River was investigated to evaluate the suitability of macroinvertebrates based on biological metrics and indices. Benthic...
متن کاملpatterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment
although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...
